Surprise surprise! Our parish priest raised his eyebrows when I gave him the website name to look at my work. Hopefully they are breaking ground on our "St Seton Parish" this month and the painting will have it's proper home.

Oh my gosh, this would look so nice framed in a church!

we had it framed prior to "gifting" it to the church. It now resides in the parish office, waiting for the church to be built

Thanks kamkam. Traditional technique. Underpainting and then layer upon layer of thin glazes to achieve the "blends".

that must have took a lot of patience to do. I paint with acrylic too, what I usually do is blend it before it dries, but only good brands like Blick can do that.

Thanks Jose. I think I've gotten the "need to do something realistic" out of my blood for a little while. Back to having fun with experiments!

Really nice work. Congratulations.

The rendering of the hands, as they hold the Rosary looks fabulous and believable under magnification. It could be a painting all its own.

Thank you Miguel. I knew this painting would not receive much attention on DA because of the religious nature. Gives a little insight into current values. I appreciate that you took the time to comment.
