Acrylic on masonite 16x20 View large. Reference- a photo I took last month on our visit.

100-120 hrs. Too big to scan.. photo misses a lot

Panglao is a small island off of Bohol in the central Philippines. This is my wife's home. This is Alona Beach. My wife just said "This is my Beautiful Panglao!"

Went to a bigger size this time. My ex-math skills failed me at first. doubled the size from 8x10's to 16x20. Quick "Area" calculation told me that this is 4 times the surface to "dot"... Dohhhh

I have great pride in this piece. I think it is in the top 5 or 10 of all that I have painted in the past 30 years. Hope you like it as much as I do.

lovely colours, and great pointillistic styling. She certainly lives in the most beautiful of settings!

Unfortunately we live in California and only visit her home once a year. We hope to retire there someday!

Amazing job! I love it!! The pointillism techinque of your painting reminds me of Georges Seurat.Again, great job.

I've been studying Seurat since beginning my experiments with pointillism. Just got a new book on his work.. not much to read, but a great deal to look at.

Yes,it shows you're studying Seurat, the similarities are very evident,ha,ha,ha.Seriously, you're doing a great job.And you're right, when you're learning on this case the technique of a master,I believe it is more effective to look at his work than reading a big deal of theory, and essays, etc.

You gave me a big laugh. When I have tried to read "essays" and critiques.. I wonder what the heck they were looking at. When painters get together and talk... the talk is much different then when non-painting "experts" talk.

You're right, just remember in Paris how the impresionists gathered together in a cafe and talked and exchanged ideas and opinions.Like you said it,it's not the same the opinion of an expert in art than an artist itself.See you around!

It is such a beautiful Island. I am really working hard to convey the beauty of the Philippines. My wife will never part with these pieces though. I eventually hope to have a show, once I get enough pieces done for the collection. Did you see the Cebu waterfall painting? This is from the Island that is next to my wife's island of Panglao.
